Fake tan sprays and lotions contain chemicals that cause cancer including formaldehyde and nitrosamines. Highly toxic substances that you should keep well away from your body. The chemicals found in the creams and sprays that cause the birth defects and disrupt women’s hormones include Sulphur Dioxide and Benzophenone-3.
Dr Chris Flower, director general of the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Perfumery Association, when asked about these chemicals commented “There are stringent EU laws covering the manufacture of cosmetic products.” Obviously not Dr Flower! The fact that you even defend the use of these chemicals makes you an unethical individual in my opinion that supports a dangerous industry.
To investigate the potential harmful effects of these type of hormone disrupting chemicals, the EU has embarked on extensive research efforts and to date has launched scientific projects worth more than €150 million.
Jacqueline McGlade, executive director of the European Environment Agency, commented on the use of dangerous fake tan sprays and creams saying “It would be prudent to take a precautionary approach to many of these chemicals until their effects are more fully understood”
